A hundred ways to kiss the ground tile ~ 253

These ceramic pieces bring together cross sections of ceramics, printmaking and drawing. They’ve been slab handbuilt out of Michigan clay - each one lovingly constructed to be able to hang on the wall. It was an idea I developed ten years ago and it came back to me two years ago. I’ve been scheming ever since and decided to start an ongoing project, creating hundreds of pieces, celebrating all the ways to appreciate life and the beauty around us, even amidst difficult circumstances.

You’ll be receiving a piece that I believe has a special intention attached to it - that of being present in the now and appreciating the small things of beauty.

It is around 3.5x4.5 inches and a half inch thick. The color of the clay is lovely toasted. I enjoy the small differences in each one and think they work wonderfully in groups of two or three (or grids of more!). Each image informs the other. There are inevitably differences in each piece due to the application of the underglaze, the clay and also how it responded to the firing. This is the raw beauty of each one.

Orders made in the morning on December 18th will be shipped the day of. I’ll be doing my best to get these sent out quickly for the holidays.
